One of my favorite things about living in New Jersey is how much this state has to offer! Within a 2-hour radius, you have New York or Philadelphia, beautiful beaches and shore towns along the coast, and wineries/breweries in the southern part of the state. I live a little less than an hour and a half south of New York City and I have always enjoyed taking day trips or visiting my older sister when she lived there! The city is such a special place and this past Monday, I got to experience it in a whole new way!
For Christmas this year, my boyfriend surprised me with a helicopter tour of Manhattan. It was definitely something more adventurous and out of my comfort zone, but I was so excited! On Monday, we drove up to north Jersey where the FlyNYON headquarters are located. They got us all harnessed up and introduced us to our pilot who explained what we would see on our tour. We took off and got an amazing 30-minute doors-off ride above the whole island! It was absolutely incredible and I had the best time taking pictures. Even though this was a more “tourist-y” attraction than we would normally opt for, I highly recommend checking it out whether you’ve lived close to NYC for years, or you are a new city-goer!
As for my outfit, I went with jean shorts, sneakers, and a sleeveless top. It was pretty hot that day, but very windy when we got up in the air so a casual, comfortable outfit was definitely the way to go! If you ever get the change to experience something like this, I know you’ll love it just as much as we did – I believe flights are 40% off right now as well!
