Welcome back to the blog! I don’t know about you, but the last month or so has felt like an absolute whirlwind ! August truly slipped away and I cannot believe we are entering the last two weeks of September! Since my last post, I became a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant , got two new jobs, and have been working on all of the wedding details! Needless to say, I have not been posting on Instagram or on the blog nearly as much as I would like, and am hoping to get into a routine as we enter a new season.
On the topic of a new season, the official first day of fall is exactly one week away! I seriously could not be more excited. I can never get enough of that crisp & cozy sweater weather and thought I would round up five different looks today to hopefully inspire you as you shift your closet to include some more autumnal pieces. I hope you enjoy!
Cute & Classic
I absolutely love this look and think there are countless different ways to style these pieces! This summer, we saw a lot of longer shorts which I liked! This pair of chino shorts from J.Crew Factory is high waisted with a slightly longer inseam making them so easy to dress up or down. These would be a great option if the weather is still warm where you live. The chambray shirt allows this look to be more transitional than a white or a linen top that I would wear more often in the summer months. Add a belt with a matching shoulder bag to create that “old money”-inspired style we’ve been seeing all over lately!
Transitional LBD
I know that I have posted about this dress multiple times on LTK and Instagram stories, but this is THE dress for early fall! The length is perfect for a workplace setting, but you can easily style this dress for everyday wear. I paired it here with my favorite sandals from Tuckernuck and a simple leather tote. I love that the puff sleeve is a bit slimmer which makes it easy to layer – you could throw on a jean jacket and pair it with white sneakers for a more casual look on a chillier day.
Cozy At Home
These boyfriend cardigans are on major trend alert this fall! I have been seeing these sweaters everywhere and they are so cozy! I love the option to wear it open or fully buttoned like I have here. I picked up this one from Target, but I know that most stores have some version of these! This was a super easy piece to style with a simple tank top and jeans, but I can also see myself dressing it up with a nicer pair of pants.
Navy is a Neutral
The infamous J.Crew lady jacket has been all over my Pinterest feed – and for good reason! This is one of those wardrobe staples that can take you from work, to weekend brunch, and everything in between. I can never resist a classic navy & white stripe, and love how this allows you to carry those colors into early fall. I love how easily it pairs with some relaxed-fit jeans and white sneakers for a more casual “out of office” look, but you could easily swap those pieces out for dress pants and a pair of flats in a professional setting.
Elevated Athleisure
Sometimes it’s nice to have a cozy weekend, but still feel put together! The cable knit sweater not only keeps you warm on a chilly day, but adds a classic touch. Opting for a sweater over something like a crewneck sweatshirt gives this outfit a more elevated feel. The tennis skirt ensures that you will be comfortable, but is also a practical option for running errands after your morning walk or workout!
