Happy Wednesday, everyone! This week on the blog, I decided to share a little weekend recap! I mentioned on my Instagram that I drove out to Pennsylvania this past weekend to visit one of my closest friends and college roommates, Roshni! I arrived on Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday morning. In this post, I’ll be sharing what we did, where we ate, and more – I hope you enjoy!
Friday
I arrived in Allentown on Friday afternoon and made a quick stop on campus. It felt so good to be back and it was an absolutely gorgeous day! I was able to snap a picture of one of our science buildings and walk around for a little bit before meeting up with Ro to get some work done.
On Friday night, we headed downtown for dinner at The Market which is a food hall with a bunch of different vendors (think Chelsea Markets in New York City). I had the Pasta Rosa from Tavola, the Italian restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious!
Saturday
On Saturday morning, we headed back to The Market to check out Reading Coffee Company – another one of the vendors/counters inside. The Market is located on the Arts Walk in downtown Allentown and it was so cool to see all of the pretty artwork and murals lining the alleyways. It was chilly and windy outside so, naturally, I opted for a pumpkin spice latte with oat milk. We sat here and enjoyed our drinks before heading to the Silk Mill in Easton for a photoshoot.
Roshni is a super talented photographer (check out her website and Instagram linked here) and was so kind to take some pictures for me! I have already posted some of the shots but will continue to share more soon. It was so gorgeous here and the fall weather made it even better!
We spent about two hours at the Silk Mill then made our way to the Promenade Shops. During college, we loved coming here with our friends whenever we had some spare time to explore (which was not often…science major problems, haha)! We did some window shopping and ultimately ended up at Torre – our absolute favorite restaurant! If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out! We enjoyed our Mexican food and had plenty of leftovers which I was very excited about!
Sunday
On Sunday, it was time for me to drive home to New Jersey. We stopped at Starbucks to grab coffee and met up with another friend from school who is also local to the area. It was so fun to catch up with everyone! I had such a fun weekend and was so happy that I got to reconnect with friends and explore more of the Lehigh Valley!
Thank you so much for reading!
