With the 4th of July only a few days away, I thought it would be fun to compile a blog post filled with everything you need to make the most out of your day! The 4th has always been one of my favorite holidays – it’s a chance to plan some fun activities, spend time with friends and family, and most importantly, celebrate America!

Fun Ways to Spend the Day
- Spend a day in the sun at the beach or pool
- Head to the golf course and play a quick 9-hole game
- Host a barbecue with your favorite lawn games such as Corn Hole, Kan Jam, Spike Ball, etc.
- Get a group of friends together to grab ice cream and watch the local fireworks
- Sparklers are always fun! They make for some pretty cool pictures as well!
- Bake a fun, patriotic-themed treat
Easy Recipe Ideas
Quick & easy appetizers to share at a BBQ! I adapted these recipes from the Magnolia Table cookbook but they are SO delicious, take only 10-15 minutes, and would be the perfect crowd-pleasers for a summer gathering:
Peach Caprese Platter
What You’ll Need:
- 1/2 cup of White Balsamic Vinegar
- 1/4 cup of Olive Oil
- 4 Peaches, chilled
- 8oz ball of Mozzarella
- Fresh Basil Leaves
- 1 tsp each Salt & Pepper
Steps:
- Combine vinegar and olive oil and chill in the fridge
- Slice peaches and mozzarella cheese
- Arrange on a platter
- Scatter basil leaves and drizzle the chilled dressing on top
- Sprinkle salt & pepper over top before serving
Homemade Guacamole
What You’ll Need:
- 4 ripe avocados
- 1 tomato, diced
- 2-3 tbsp red onion, to taste
- 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 1 lime, to taste
- Salt & Pepper
Steps:
- Spoon Avocados into a large bowl and mash with a fork
- Add tomato, onion, cilantro, and 1/4 tsp of salt and pepper
- Stir until combined, adding more lime juice, salt, and pepper as needed
- Serve with your favorite tortilla chips
