Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve loved getting back into a good workout routine. I feel so much better, sleep so much better, and have noticed that I have more energy throughout the day. In this week’s post, I am going to share my current workout routine as well as my favorite workout must-haves! I hope you enjoy!
My Current Routine
Running is typically my main form of exercise, but I also like to alternate with a couple of strength training, pilates, or yoga workouts throughout the week. As of now, my goal is to workout 5-6 days per week. Each Sunday, I sit down with my planner and write out the different workouts I’d like to do each day. I have found that this method has kept me consistent since I am physically writing it down rather than relying on my own motivation because, let’s be honest, it’s hard to find it sometimes!
Recently, I’ve been using a free training plan from Runner’s World to plan my runs. Even though I’m not training for a race right now, they have great options that I’ve loved using to help pace myself and get back in shape. When I’m not running, I have been enjoying the workouts on the free Blogilates app, as well as videos from MadFit on YouTube.
This is the general routine I have been following lately, but if you would like to learn more about my tips for getting into a good workout routine, I have another blog post from last summer that I will link here!
Workout Must-Haves
As for my must-haves, the main one is my Apple Watch. I received mine for Christmas and it has seriously changed the game for me! I was a FitBit fan for years, but now that I have made the switch to Apple and have seen all of the different features and capabilities, I can honestly say that it is 100% worth the investment! Over time, I have developed a short list of essentials that I always use regardless of the type of workout I am doing:
Running Essentials
- Brooks Running Sneakers
- AirPods & a good Spotify Playlist
- Goodr Glasses – the best sunglasses designed specifically for running!
- Lululemon Headbands
Other Essentials
- Lululemon Yoga Mat – well worth the investment!
- Pillow Pad – props up your phone or tablet for at-home workouts
- Protein Bars – my favorites are the nut-free GoMacro Bars!
Thank you so much for reading!
