Happy September, friends! I am so excited for fall, but wanted to publish one last summer post here on the blog. With Labor Day Weekend right around the corner, you may be heading out for a beach getaway or planning your next warm weather vacation for later on in the year. As a seasoned beach-goer and someone who has done a decent amount of traveling over the last couple of years, I wanted to share my top five warm weather travel essentials – I hope you enjoy!
Sunscreen
This may seem like a no-brainer, but it is often the thing I usually forget to pack! I like to keep a little travel size on hand so I can throw it in my bag and take on the go. I also love the SuperGoop Glow Screen for my face and use this every morning as a part of my skincare routine.
Small Tote
I love storing a smaller, flexible tote in the bottom of my suitcase to use as a beach bag. This can also double as a bag for walking around, shopping, etc.
Versatile Clothing Items
When it comes to packing, less is more! It is so easy to overpack, but I have found that choosing pieces that can be mixed and matched helps so so much! When you have a handful of staple pieces such as a striped shirt, jean shorts, and a classic pair of sandals, there are so many different looks you can create! For example, an oversized button down can be worn casually during the day, but also functions as a beach coverup. A basic top can be dressed up for dinner with a jean jacket, some jewelry, etc… You get the idea!
All-in-One Hair Tool
Is this really an essential? Maybe not, but hear me out on this one! I recently purchased the DryBar Mixologist 3-in-1 Styling Iron and oh my gosh guys!! Total game changer!! I usually wear my hair the same way almost everyday and I’ve been looking to switch things up. Although a little pricier, I see it as three high quality styling tools for the price of one. You’re not limited in the ways you can style your hair which is perfect for someone like me who is always changing my mind, haha! And as a bonus, you can store everything in the convenient little carrying case which is perfect for travel.
Book and Magazine
I love bringing some sort of reading material with me whenever I travel. On the plane, I’m more of a music and podcast girl, but while I’m waiting in the airport or passing time on a layover, I always like to reach for the book I’m currently reading. I also bring the latest issue of Southern Living along to flip through on the beach or by the pool.
Thank you so much for reading! What are some of your warm weather travel essentials?
